Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Saypath is operated by Healey AI LLC ("Saypath," "we," "us"). Saypath is a speaking practice app: you record short practice sessions, and we give you feedback on how you spoke. That means we handle your voice, so this policy is specific about what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the controls you have.
This policy covers the Saypath iOS app and the saypath.app website. If you have any questions, email us at support@saypath.app.
1. What we collect
In the app
- Account information. Your email address and sign-in identity when you create an account with email, Sign in with Apple, or Google.
- Voice recordings. Audio you record during practice sessions. Recording happens only when you start a session; the app does not listen in the background.
- Transcripts. The text of what you said in a session, including word timings and filler-word tags.
- Speech statistics. Numbers derived from each session, such as filler-word rate, speaking pace, pauses, session duration, completion, date, and prompt category.
- Settings. Your preferences, including your audio retention setting.
On the website
- Waitlist signups. Your email address, along with the referring page and your browser's user agent string.
- Analytics and advertising measurement. The website uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and to measure ad campaigns (see Section 7). The app does not contain advertising.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide the service: transcribing your practice sessions, calculating your speech metrics, generating feedback, adapting prompts to how you speak, and showing your progress over time. We also use it to maintain your account, respond to support requests, and keep the service secure.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your voice to identify you.
3. How voice recordings are handled
When you finish a practice session, the audio is uploaded over an encrypted connection and transcribed by a speech-to-text provider (currently AssemblyAI). The provider processes your audio solely to produce the transcript and does not retain it after transcription is complete.
If your retention setting keeps audio (see Section 4), the recording is stored in private cloud storage keyed to your account. Access is restricted to you: playback happens only through short-lived signed links, and no recording is ever publicly accessible.
- We do not create voiceprints or any biometric identifiers from your voice.
- We do not use speaker identification or speaker labeling.
- Your recordings are used only for your own transcription, feedback, and playback.
4. How long we keep your data
Audio and transcripts share one retention setting, which you control in the app. The default is 30 days.
| Data | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Voice recordings and transcripts | Per your retention setting: not stored at all (delete immediately), 7 days, 30 days (default), or until you delete them. Expired recordings and transcripts are purged automatically by a scheduled server job. |
| Speech statistics | Kept until you delete them (per session or all at once) or delete your account. Statistics are not on the retention clock, so your progress history survives even when audio expires. |
| Account information | Kept until you delete your account. |
| Waitlist email (website) | Kept until we invite you, you ask to be removed, or the waitlist is retired. |
If you choose "delete immediately," neither the audio nor the transcript is stored; only your statistics are saved.
5. Your controls
- Retention setting. Choose how long audio and transcripts are kept, from the privacy screen in the app.
- Delete a session's audio. Remove the recording for any individual session.
- Delete everything. Remove all of your recordings, transcripts, and statistics.
- Delete your account. Delete your account and all associated data from within the app.
- Email us. Contact support@saypath.app for anything you cannot do in the app, including waitlist removal.
6. When we share information
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run Saypath, and only for that purpose:
- Supabase hosts our database, authentication, and audio storage.
- AssemblyAI (or a successor speech-to-text provider) transcribes session audio, as described in Section 3.
- Vercel hosts the website and provides site analytics.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy continues to apply to your data).
7. Website cookies and advertising measurement
The saypath.app website uses Vercel Analytics for aggregate site usage, plus Google and Reddit advertising tags to measure whether our ads work. These tags may set cookies and may be considered "sharing" for cross-context advertising under some US state laws. They run only on the website, never in the app.
You can limit this through your browser's cookie controls, and through Google's and Reddit's ad settings. To opt out of advertising measurement related to our site, you can also email us at support@saypath.app.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Recordings live in a private storage bucket with row-level access control that restricts every file to the account that created it. Playback uses short-lived signed links. Server credentials are kept out of the app entirely. No system is perfectly secure, but access to your data is narrowly scoped by design.
9. Age requirement
Saypath is for adults 18 and older. The app is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. Contact us at support@saypath.app if you believe a minor has created an account.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or limit certain processing. Most of this you can do directly in the app (Section 5). For anything else, email support@saypath.app and we will respond within the timeframe your local law requires. We will never treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.
11. Where data is processed
Saypath is operated from the United States, and your data is processed and stored there. If you use Saypath from outside the US, you understand that your information is transferred to and processed in the US.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and note the new effective date above. For significant changes affecting voice data, we will also notify you in the app.
